Side Effects of Caproate

Caproate Side Effects

Caproate is an ester that is almost exclusively found in the popular testosterone mixture Omnadren, but it can on a rare occasion from the right underground lab be found in a pure Testosterone-Caproate form. In either case, the side-effects of a Caproate based testosterone will be the same as all testosterone compounds; this includes single ester forms such as Testosterone-Enanthate, Testosterone-Cypionate, Testosterone-Propionate, mixtures such as Sustanon-250 and of course, ester free Testosterone-Suspension. As this is the case, you will find Caproate testosterone compounds are some of the easiest to control when it comes side-effects; after all, it’s only testosterone. For the healthy adult male, there are very few anabolic androgenic steroids as beneficial as testosterone, and for that matter easy to control. While true, by a healthy adult male we truly mean it; we’re not referring to just a lacking of a severe medical condition, but if you have high blood pressure or cholesterol you should not supplement; we truly mean healthy. Further, by adult male, this means adolescents should not supplement as they should not with any anabolic steroid, and like all testosterone compounds Caproate versions are not recommended for women.

With the above in mind, we want to look at the side-effects of Caproate based testosterones, what can be done about them, how they can be controlled, and most importantly how you can avoid them altogether. You will find the majority of the side-effects to fall into the possible category, and that means they are by no means guaranteed. As for those guaranteed, you will find with proper use they are of absolutely no concern; let’s take a look and see what we can find.

Possible Side-Effects of Caproate:

If it’s a testosterone compound, it is going to aromatize; it’s simply its nature. Aromatization refers to the process by-which testosterone converts into estrogen, and as estrogen levels increase this can lead to two of the most common steroidal side-effects and contribute slightly to two more. The first is the often dreaded gynecomastia (male-breast enlargement) and there’s hardly a man alive who enjoys that idea; no man likes the idea of “man boobs.” For this reason, the use of an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) is advised; an AI will inhibit aromatase from occurring and even lower our body’s total estrogen levels. Then we have excess water retention, and once again this is due to excess estrogen caused by aromatization. Further, as AI’s will protect against gynecomastia they will also protect against water retention for the same reasons and in the same way. With this in mind, your best AI’s to consider should be Anastrozole (Arimidex) or Letrozole (Femara); just one is all you’ll need. It should be noted; if you use an AI and still hold water, you’re probably doing so because you’re overeating; don’t blame the Cparoate testosterone, blame your inability to control your diet.

Beyond the above, excess estrogen can also have an impact on blood pressure and cholesterol levels; specifically LDL cholesterol. While it can have an effect, your diet and total dosing will play the most important role in regards to control; an AI can help, but if your diet is filthy and your dosing too high you may very well have problems. For this reason, responsible supplementation becomes truly important, and if you can supplement responsibly and follow a healthy diet you will not have problems. It should be noted; this is assuming you are not genetically predisposed to high levels, and if you already suffer from high levels you should not supplement. Avoid excess alcohol, control your portions and eat healthy clean foods; junk should not be a regular occurrence, and this really shouldn’t be too hard to do; after all, you’re trying to enhance performance, and such items work in the opposite direction; especially alcohol.

Testosterone Suppression:

Almost all anabolic androgenic steroids suppress natural testosterone production; the rate of suppression will vary from steroid to steroid, but in the case of actual testosterone compounds it will be significant. Fortunately, you’re using a Caproate testosterone compound, and this means you’re providing your body with all the testosterone it needs, and a low testosterone condition is of no concern; however, there will be a small concern once supplementation is complete. Further, during supplementation, your testicles will atrophy due to the lack of natural production; this will occur guaranteed. Even so, once your cycle is complete and all the exogenous steroidal hormones have cleared your system, your natural testosterone production will begin again, and your testicles will return to their normal size. Of course, your levels will still be suppressed once use is stopped, and it will take some time for them to rebuild; for this reason, a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) program is often advised. A PCT program should include a Selective Estrogen Receptor (SERM) such as Tamoxifen Citrate (Nolvadex) or Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid) with the possible addition of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) at the front end of the PCT. This will not bring about full recovery, but it will greatly stimulate your natural testosterone production, and provide you enough testosterone to function properly while your natural levels continue to increase.
